X:Men has been a long-running franchise, from the medium of white paper to the silver screen it has been amusing peoples (and mutants, if they exist) with their so called "differences" saving the day time and time again. well this time, they are facing god itself. The wrath of the god who disgusts the sight before him, that humans have evolved to be weak, and govern by the weak. Can they save the world again, versus god ?
The villain, En Sabah Nur is from ancient Egypt where he ruled with the help of his four horsemen, achieving God-Like status with the power to grant or amplify other peoples power. One time he was betrayed and therefore remain buried underground before resurrected in this time, the time of the X-Men. At time where mutants were lashed for being different, and therefore dangerous. When En Sabah Nur saw the world, he was raged, that the human race has become so weak, they have to be govern by the most powerful, god himself. He searched for a new four horseman, being Magneto, Archangel, Storm, and Psylocke. He was up against a young, and raw X-Men which are not fully trained. Won't spoil the ending for you though, go check it out.
The movie itself have high expectations from fans all over the world. Especially when previous Marvel Movies like Captain America : Civil War are block busters, it drew high comparison and therefore high expectation. The higher you jump the harder you fall they say. I want say its a failure but there are certain aspects that can be tweak about, For instance, The Four Horsemen don't really had a part in the movie, the fought once and thus died. their character can be much more elaborated (except Magneto). And the whole movie was bringing viewer to the climax which would be the clash between the X-Men and En Sabah Nur. But the fighting scene was too short. we spent an hour of watching recruitments and other yibi yaba and are then disappointed by the showing, it should be better, with more surprise element. Also, why the Wolverine cameo, i thought he was going to save the day (although Jean eventually did it, Wolverine would be super cool!)
Despite this it is still a good watch. a particular line to highlight is that
"You don't need to control your powers' just embrace it"
So in which manner you are different, or unique, or special, you dont need to hide them, or control them or suppress them. instead embrace them make it your identity just like how Mystique wears her blue scale and red head. Be proud of who you are. Now matter how much degree your oddness is, there must be a need for it in the world, in then you will shine. :)
