Well once again its Pak and recently i just watched a movie by the title The Physician. If you are any enthusiast of a 14th century plague ridden world that spotlights muslim-jew-christian cooperation at the time, well, you are welcome 😊
Well the story revolves around Rob Cole/Jesse Ben Benjamin who strives to be a pioneer in the medicine world, at the age where practicing medicine is considered a necromancy and a form of witchcraft by the churches and the public. And most of the movie had him as an apperentice to Ibn Sina, the famed muslim scholar. This movie is actually adapted from an 18th Century Novel by Noah Gordon of the same title.
What cited my interest before i watched it was, not many movies are made with a significant role or appraisal towards a muslim scholar so that is what I am looking out for throught the course of the movie. Also, i would want to see how bad is the Black Death if it were to be visualized in imagery. And also, how during the time of limited knowledge and supplies were they able to overcome the disease
*I wont let you know the answer, these questions are rhetorical just to make you more excited. 😊
One moral value i would like to share with you guys are the passion to gain knowledge. Jesse Ben Benjamin and his Mentor, Ibn Sina, both practiced medicine and using methods of surgery to explore more about the human biology eventhough they knew the risk of getting caught of necromancy or witchcraft (punished to death). To out in contrast we today are much privilleged that we sigh at the single ray of sunlight in our eyes. Don't take this peace for granted guys 😊
Well the title may be misleading but the essence of the movie is not misleeading at all. Throughout the movie we saw courage, loyalty, perseverance, independant, and the importance of knowladge portrayed in a more epic, historical setting. The title may be addressed towards the great Ibn Sina, but the movie is relatable to those who are in pursue of knowladge, higher or primary education.
