Re: View , The Theory Of Everything

The Theory of Everything

Hey its Pak, and just recently i watched the movie the Theory of Everything and I would like to give a short review in case you are watching this movie soon.

p/s : No Spoilers

So, basically its a biography of one of the greatest minds in the 21st Century, Stephen Hawking. Dr. Hawking whom proposed the the Hawking Radiation and its acclaimed book " A Brief History of Time" is relatively a household name due to his eureka's through out the years. But to many his journey to the top remained unknown. thus the movie is produced

The story starts in Cambridge where he pursued his PhD honorifics in Cosmology. Everything was smooth sailing as he outsmarted all the other students in Sciama and he met the love of his live by the name of Jane Wilde. Then tragedy struck when he fell awkwardly and landed on the side of his head. Due to the accident he was diagnosed with the Motor Neurone Disease. Although losing his physical abilities, he was still very passionate on his ideas about General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. His checkered life of heartbreaking incidents with lifelong acclaimed accomplishments is portrayed in this production and it gave us an insight that being ONLY a genius is not enough. it took hard work, dedication and the most of all, sacrifice.

For a parents, watch this movie with your children. For a teacher watch this movie with your students. For teenagers, don't just ignore this masterpiece for another useless Rom-Com or Action that belittle value. This movie has a whole lot of value and a whole lot of drama (and some Rom-Com too between Jane and Stephen) that I regard it a "complete" movie. Also it being a true story of someone whoa has accolades accomplishments one after another, it will bring up inspiration to all that knowledge doesn't have a barrier, be it time, age, disabilities, whatever, the only thing stopping yourself is you (cliche, i know)

One truly valuable lesson I learnt is love prevails. When, Stephens love of knowledge had him continuing his studies despite his physical disabilities. And when Jane decided to be the one beside Stephen for the presumed last two years of his life. Jane continued to nurse him for the next 30 years (15 times more than his life expectancy) without a sigh of complaint. Unfortunately, this movie is brought to a saddening conflict when Jonathan came into their live (not a spoiler its in Wikipedia). Jane decides that he wanted to be a "normal" family and that Stephen is not giving enough of that "normalcy". Although the break up with the pair finding comfort both with another partner, there is no love lost between them. the last line of the film was

"Look what we have made" said Stephen to Jane as their children cam running around the gardens of the Queen's palace.

The film actually successfully made me  cringe, smile, smirk of disgust and even CRY (OMG i did that). Its a sure watch to anyone that is doubting themselves for cannot doing a specific task. Look at Hawkings, he did it on a wheelchair, with an electronic speak-a-nator, and getting three kids between them. To think of it, its absurd how privileged we are and yet we still sigh when we lost our Wi-Fi connectivity. Don't take things for granted, and don't let any lacking form deterance for you to chase your dream.

Sincerely, Pak.

    1. I hope an Einstein movie will be produced, or maybe in 100 years a Raimi Bonn biographic movie is produced 😊

  7. I can't agree more, the cast brought the characters especially Stephen Hawking and Jane Wilde to life and are able to relay the emotion in the movie towards the audience
